Originally from Durham, North Carolina, Angelina is a visual journalism student at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill double majoring in Journalism and Social and Economic Justice with a Studio Art minor. Her fine art background plays an important role in her journalism and works with her curious and extroverted side to tell visual stories of the people she meets and places she goes.
Through her work, Angelina aims to tell impactful stories in unexpected ways and in corners of the world often overlooked. This summer, she is a photo/video intern at the Raleigh News & Observer, a McClatchy paper. In the summer of 2021, she was an intern at the Malheur Enterprise in Oregon under two-time Pulitzer finalist Les Zaitz. She won first place in the Hearst Photojournalism Championships.
